Sabah DAP Chairman Frankie Poon was wrong to blame PBS for making Islam, Sabah’s official religion, as it happened, during by Usno in 1973, before PBS was formed.

Kota Kinabalu: .John Melvin Baxter, a member of the Sabah Action Body Advocating Rights , a non-political and non-religious entity NGO, said this in response to Poon who blamed PBS for making Islam the official religion of Sabah. “Perhaps Frankie was too young to be aware of this fact. His remarks cannot be allowed to go uncorrected. I would say to Frankie history right’.

It is a total blatant lie.  “We can see for ourselves that Kota Marudu has undergone a major transformation ever since he (Dr Maximus) became the Member of Parliament and a Federal Minister,” he said.  Hajiji who is chairman of GRS said Dr Maximus is well-respected by Federal leaders as he is a leader who had been fighting for Sabah’s rights from the very beginning and now as Minister in charge of Sabah and Sarawak affairs, he continued the struggle in the MA63 special council
