SELANGOR will decide by Wednesday (March 11) the measures to be taken in fighting the spread of Covid-19.

said on Saturday that they would advise on the size of public programmes that would be allowed, among other things.

"We will also advise on certain discipline that should be adhered to, including no shaking of hands or embracing one another, to avoid physical contact, which is one of the ways for virus transmission."Blocking state dwellers from travelling is beyond our jurisdiction. All we can do is advise all to practise good hygiene and seek immediate treatment when ill.

Amirudin said the political instability which left the country without a Health Minister in the last two weeks had somewhat contributed to the spike in new Covid-19 cases. "The lack of direction and critical decisions that should be made at the highest level has left us unprepared to face the second wave of the virus," he said.

On the sacking of Selangor Culture, Tourism, Malay Civilisation and Heritage exco member Datuk Abdul Rashid Asari , Amirudin said it was a tit-for-tat decision after Pakatan Harapan was ousted from the Federal Government."I am open to discussions but the utmost important this is the stability of the state. Pakatan Harapan has two-third majority in the state, and we welcome any supporters but there must be a commitment. We're sorry, this article is unavailable at the moment.
