SHAH ALAM: The Selangor Health Department has detected 132 expired food products still on shelves at businesses during a food safety operation carried out in conjunction with Chinese New Year from Jan 9 to 13.

Selangor Health director Datuk Dr Sha'ari Ngadiman said the operation by the state's Food Safety and Quality Division in collaboration with the district health office at 43 premises also detected 1,415 products with damaged packaging.

"A total of five 32B notices, namely offences under Rule 11 and Rule 14 of the Food Regulations 1985 were issued during this operation," he said in a statement on Friday .
