Johor Customs Department director Misbahudin Parmin said that the first raid was on Nov 30 last year, when three containers filled with untaxed beer was found at the Pasir Gudang port.
Misbahudin added at a press conference at the Johor Customs Department on Thursday that the beer is believed to be from China."Also seized were the three containers that are about six metres tall each. They are worth about RM15,000," he said. "The alcoholic beverages were hidden in a house in Ulu Tiram, Johor Baru. We believe that the house is used as a temporary store before it is sold to locals, said Misbahudin.
He also said that the department seized some 764,000 contraband cigarettes on the same day in Segamat.
