Customs deputy director-general Datuk Abdul Latiff Abdul Kadir said his men first seized 42kg of the illicit drugs hidden in the door frames of three containers during a raid at a godown in Batu Caves, Selangor on Dec 2.
"In a follow-up operation, we seized another three containers at Port Klang which were in the process of being taken to the same godown," he told reporters at the Customs headquarters in Kg Jijan near here. He added that all six containers were filled with used clothes and said this was the first time the Customs Department came across such a modus operandi to smuggle in drugs."We have reasons to believe the drugs are for the local market," he said.
