BANTING: Wood sector exports have increased by 20.7% in the first six months of this year compared to the same period last year, says Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin.

BANTING: Wood sector exports have increased by 20.7% in the first six months of this year compared to the same period last year, says Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin .

The five main wood products that are exported include furniture , plywood , sawn timber , wood fiber , and wood moldings . Also present at the event was Deputy Minister Datuk Seri Wee Jeck Seng, Plantation Industries and Commodities Ministry secretary-general Datuk Ravi Muthayah and Malaysian Timber Council CEO Muhtar Suhaili.

The programme between the MTC and the Malaysian Timber Industry Board began on July 28 and will end on Monday .
