PETALING JAYA: Former Rantau assemblyman Mohamad Hasan says he will not budge from his decision to re-contest the state seat next month although it may not be crucial to his current position as the Umno acting president.
“The Rantau people want me, and I know that even if I win, there is no added value. But it is my place and I will defend it,” the former Negeri Sembilan menteri besar said in an interview at the FMT office today. He said although a federal seat would be most suited to his current role as the leader of Umno – the biggest opposition bloc in Parliament – he regarded Rantau as sentimental and wanted to defend it.
