Mention the Teluk Intan and it’s likely that this charming clock tower in Perak comes to mind. But is the claim true?

Yes, one of its purposes was to act as a reservoir for the locals in case of drought and for water supply in the event of a fire.

Built by contractor Leong Choon Cheong in 1885, the tower also acts as the timekeeper of the town, with a clock at its top.
