According to police, the man they detained was a 21-year-old bodyguard who was stopped at 1.56am on Thursday by police patrol officers at a petrol station in Ukay Perdana.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said the man was riding a motorcycle and police found him in possession of a curved blade and a gun. "A check on the suspect's bag revealed that he was in possession of a ‘kerambit’ , an object believed to be a pistol and walkie-talkie. "We believe he had kept the weapons and equipment for his work as a bodyguard," he said when contacted on Thursday."The suspect has been remanded until Sunday ," he added.

ACP Mohamad Farouk said the case is classified under Section 6 of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958 and Section 36 of the Firearm Act 1960.
