Putrajaya ready to review Social Harmony Act

It is disappointing that some parties abuse freedom of speech, which is guaranteed by Putrajaya, by playing up and spreading 'inappropriate issues', the Dewan Negara heard today. – EPA pic, May 8, 2019.

THE government is ready to re-examine the essence of the Social Harmony Act that can be used to curb the dissemination of information harmful to national unity. Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Dr Md Farid Md Rafik said, however, there is no plan at the moment to reintroduce the law.
