PM Muhyiddin proposes amendment to Road Transport Act to impose heavier penalties against drunk-driving

Saturday, 30 May 2020 05:32 PM MYT

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said he has instructed the Transport Ministry to propose an amendment of the legislation to provide for more severe penalties for drunk-driving as cases of road crashes caused by intoxicated drivers have become increasingly worrying. The move will also bring justice to those whose family members ended up as victims of drink-driving cases, he added.

Why only drunk driving. Heavy penalty for all trafgic offences. Have demerit points for each offense and ban driving for a month or two if breached max offense points. Like how it is done overseas. As long as we have corrupted police force, nothing changes.

Make sure same for drug addicts too

MuhyiddinYassin Dear PM sir. Can the Govt. BAN Alcohol ? That will surely STOP d Drunk-Driving accident cases. It's just TOO many cases already and losing LOVE ONES in such TRAGIC way is very-very PAINFUL for d Family PLUS being d sole bread winner of d Family. TQ Sir 🙏
