PENGERANG: The future development of Phase 3 of the Pengerang Deepwater Terminal (PDT) is set to attract more refining and petrochemical companies aside from downstream petrochemical manufacturing plants, says Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad.

He said the development also has the potential to bring in multibillion-ringgit investment into the state and the country, aside from creating a more value-added economy, skilled workforce and long-term economic activity.

“This led to the forming of the Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex that has served the locals and neighbouring communities well through job creation and other indirect economic benefits. Hasni added that to date, approximately 50% of the land in PDT has been developed, with a further 202ha available for future development.
