PKR's Seberang Jaya assemblyman Dr Afif Bahardin said remarks made by Zakir, who is currently sheltering in Malaysia, were hurtful and have tainted the harmony of the various communities in the country.
“This demand is necessary to ease the pressure and dissatisfaction among many Malaysians who are hurt by his remarks, ” Dr Afif said in a statement Thursday . “As long as there is no security guarantee and fair trial for him from the Indian government, it is certainly a difficult decision we must make.Recently, Zakir – at a religious talk called “Executive Talk bersama Dr Zakir Naik” in Kota Baru, Kelantan – called on Chinese Malaysians to “go back” first as they were “old guests” of the country.
