GEORGE TOWN: A total of 288 frontliners out of the 31,000 in the state will be vaccinated every day from now at Penang Hospital under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.

Penang Hospital infectious disease unit head Dr Chow Ting Soo said frontliner vaccinations, including the second dose, will be completed by the end of April.

“We began preparations on Feb 22 and this involved the collection of data and the logistic arrangements. “Those who were apprehensive about it were pregnant women and people with medical issues, but we managed to convince them that it was safe, ” she said. “There was no pain during the jab and as medical staff, we are accustomed to this and it is a relatively simple process.
