Penang asks for annual RM1b allocation from Putrajaya

Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow told the legislative assembly that the state contributed RM94.7 billion or 6.7 per cent to the nation’s GDP in 2019. He expressed his gratitude to the federal government for allocating RM15.197 million to the state government to manage the Covid-19 pandemic. As for the four assemblymen who had switched allegiance to Perikatan Nasional , he said the state had allocated development funds totalling RM400,000 for each exco and RM300,000 for each assemblyman.
