Sebaik tiba di Pelabuhan Lamitan City, Pulau Basilan, sukarelawan sekali lagi perlu melalui pemeriksaan ketat tentera Filipina yang lengkap bersenjata api. Katanya, pemeriksaan itu sebenarnya memberikan jaminan keselamatan kepada sukarelawan memandangkan jumlah kehadiran ramai. “Keadaan keselamatan khususnya warganegara luar menjadi keutamaan kerajaan Filipina kerana masih terdapat ancaman pengganas di pulau ini,” katanya.
