Katanya, pada masa ini, proses pengambilalihan MASwings oleh kerajaan negeri sedang berlangsung selepas dipersetujui secara prinsip oleh Suruhanjaya Penerbangan Malaysia , Kementerian Pengangkutan dan Malaysia Aviation Group. MASwings iaitu Syarikat Penerbangan Komuter Malaysia Timur yang pertama, bertujuan memenuhi keperluan perjalanan udara penduduk Sarawak dan Sabah dengan menyediakan tambang berpatutan, jadual dan hubungan yang mudah di kedua-dua wilayah itu.
