: Proses penukaran status Pelabuhan Bintulu kepada Pelabuhan Negeri Sarawak dijangka selesai tahun ini dan keseluruhan operasi pelabuhan tersebut akan diserahkan sepenuhnya kepada kerajaan negeri menjelang 2025, kata Menteri Pengangkutan Anthony Loke.
Loke berkata objektif MoU itu adalah untuk menyelia dan melancarkan proses penukaran status Pelabuhan Bintulu daripada pelabuhan Persekutuan kepada pelabuhan negeri agar peralihan tersebut dapat dimuktamad tahun ini. “Pelabuhan Labuan masih kekal sebagai pelabuhan Persekutuan. Jadi Pelabuhan Labuan akan dikeluarkan daripada Akta Pelabuhan Bintulu yang akan dimansuhkan sebagai pelabuhan Persekutuan,“ katanya.
