COPENHAGEN: Penularan varian Omicron ketika pandemik Covid-19 masih memuncak boleh ‘mengakhiri’ jangkitan virus maut itu di benua Eropah.
Katanya, sebaik sahaja penularan Omicron di seluruh Eropah reda, akan terbentuk ‘imuniti global sama ada daripada suntikan vaksin atau mereka yang memperoleh uminiti selepas dijangkiti Covid-19’.“Kami menjangkakan akan ada tempoh ‘tenang’ sebelum Covid-19 menular semua menjelang akhir tahun ini, namun tidak semestinya wabak itu kembali,” katanya.
Jelas beliau, sekiranya kes jangkitan di bahagian timur laut AS terus menurun, kesan positif akan dapat dilihat di seluruh negara dalam tempoh terdekat.
