Kemunculan Omicron cabar dunia lebih cakna kekang Covid-19 - Khairy

PUTRAJAYA: Masyarakat antarabangsa ketika ini perlu bertindak pantas dan bekerjasama serius memperbaiki sistem penjagaan kesihatan awam dalam menangani wabak Covid-19.

“Pengukuhan implementasi dan pematuhan kepada Peraturan Kesihatan Antarabangsa 2005 mestilah jadi keutamaan besar dan Malaysia mendokong segala usaha ke arah itu,” katanya dalam penampilan julung kali mengetuai delegasi negara setelah Malaysia dilantik sebagai ahli EB WHO bagi rantau Pasifik Barat selama tiga tahun bermula tahun lalu.

Sesi berkenaan turut dihadiri menteri-menteri kesihatan dan ketua-ketua agensi kesihatan awam dari pelbagai negara mewakili rantau masing-masing serta pakar-pakar yang berkaitan. “Kita perlu bekerjasama untuk struktur semula arkitektur kesihatan global kepada lebih telus, inklusif, saksama dan cakna akauntabiliti bagi elak isu ketidakadilan dua tahun lalu. Justeru tahun ketiga wabak itu tidak lagi bersifat sekatan pergerakan rakyat untuk bebas merentasi sempadan, sebaliknya opsyen pengurusan komuniti termasuk vaksinasi.
