China’s world No. 1 mixed doubles player and reigning world champion Zheng Siwei has been to a durian specialty shop near his hotel here almost every other day.
“I love durians. I will usually come here and eat. I will take away as well,” he said when met on Thursday.In order to avoid discomfort during his matches, he said he had found a way to eat the durian little by little over a couple of days. “I can now eat more durians with the coaches and friends. We try to go anywhere near the hotel,” said the former world No. 1.“Let me show you all what I do after winning my match in the Malaysian Open. Eat durians while reviewing the recording of my match,” he posted on his Instagram account videos of his durian eating experience.
DSR Taiko Bhd marketing manager Erine Phang said her durian specialty shop at Lot 10 had welcomed dozens of players and coaches many times over the week.
