KUALA LUMPUR: Necessary action has been taken to expedite the process of reuniting M. Indira Gandhi with her daughter, says Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador."I do care about her plight and necessary action is being taken to reunite her with her daughter.
"We have been getting help from certain senior politicians to convince her ex-husband to surrender himself."We want to convince him that everything will be done according to the law," he said."This is to assure her that the police are working hard to track them down.Past efforts to track down Indira's ex-husband were hampered due to certain parties making public statements on the matter, Abdul Hamid lamented.
Muhammad Riduan was believed to be in a neighbouring country to avoid detection by the authorities, the Home Ministry said.He is not in a fixed area abroad but on the move from place to place, making it hard for the authorities to carry out investigations.The police are working with their counterparts in a neighbouring country to identify his whereabouts, ” the ministry said in its written reply to Datin Paduka Dr Tan Yee Kew recently.
