KUALA LUMPUR: There are still no leads on the whereabouts of the ex-husband of kindergarten teacher M. Indira Gandhi who took away their daughter 11 years ago.

The Home Ministry, in a written reply in the Dewan Rakyat, said that Muhammad Riduan Abdullah is believed to be on the move in a neighbouring country to avoid detection by the authorities.

"The police are working with authorities in the neighbouring country to identify his location," the ministry said in its written reply to Dr Tan Yee Kew on Wednesday . This included carrying out checks with the National Registration Department on his known addresses and even making a press statement on April 29, 2016, for members of the public to provide information on the whereabouts of Muhammad Riduan and his daughter.Apart from declaring Muhammad Riduan as a wanted individual, the ministry noted that he has been blacklisted by the Immigration Department in effort to trace his whereabouts.

Pathmanathan, who took the name Muhammad Ridhuan Abdullah, fled with their daughter Prasana Diksa in 2009 when she was only 11 months old.
