Anti-hopping law must empower voters to punish or keep MPs - AzalinaPARLIAMENT | AzalinaOthmanS said the voters should decide via referendum, whether or not an MP who has 'hopped' should be retained, or whether there should be a by-election. AzalinaOthmanS Nice. Also impose a ban so that the frog be ban from any parliamentary or state seat for 3 elections. AzalinaOthmanS I think it too cumbersome. First there will be referendum by voters. If voters decided the MP should not be retained, there will be by-election. The process should be short and simple. AzalinaOthmanS I would suggest if MP jump ship, there should not be any additional seat gained to the new party, and MP will lost the right to contest for the next election at least for 2 terms.
