KUALA LUMPUR: A mobile phone repairman died after the car he was driving plunged into Sungai Batu.

His passenger survived without a scratch and was rescued by quick-thinking members of the public who pulled him from the wrecked car.City Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Asst Comm Zulkefly Yahya said the incident occurred at 11.48pm on Sunday ."He lost control of the vehicle there and it plunged into the river," he said when contacted on Monday .

"We believe the driver was intoxicated during the incident," he said adding that the body was sent to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for a post-mortem.
