Menterinya, Datuk Darell Leiking berkata, ia didorong oleh peningkatan dalam aktiviti pembuatan terutamanya dalam komponen struktur aero dan enjin serta penyelenggaraan, pembaikan dan baik pulih yang termasuk enjin dan komponen aero.
“Antara usaha ke arah itu adalah dengan menaik taraf kursus relevan daripada diploma sehingga ijazah di universiti dan memastikan graduan sedia memasuki pasaran,” katanya kepada pemberita pada Sidang Kemuncak Aeroangkasa Malaysia 2019 di sini hari ini. Jelasnya, antara produk aeroangkasa yang dikeluarkan di negara ini termasuk penutup kepala kipas, kotak kipas, pembalik tujahan, pintu pesawat, peralatan avionik dan brek karbon.
Walaupun saiz Malaysia adalah kecil dan terletak jauh dari pemain aeroangkasa utama di Eropah, beliau positif bahawa pelabur akan tertarik untuk melabur dan membawa perniagaan mereka ke negara ini kerana sokongan yang diberikan oleh kerajaan.
