: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission has taken action on 2,823 social media accounts which were involved in fraudulent activities from 2018 until the middle of this month, with 80% of them having been deleted in accordance with the terms and conditions of the platforms.said the move was aimed at protecting consumers from fraudulent activities by irresponsible parties on the social media.
He added that other than closing down the accounts with the cooperation of the social media platform provider, another way was enforcement action and an advocacy campaign.
