Bulding owners are advised to get approval from Iskandar Puteri City Council before renovating their properties.

Mayor Datuk Haffiz Ahmad said failure to do so could result in legal action taken against them for carrying out illegal renovations or putting up illegal structures on their buildings.

“However, they will be penalised for failing to seek prior approval from MBIP before doing the renovation or extensions to their buildings,” he said. He said those found guilty for renovating their building without permit could face up to a RM250,000 fine and a maximum 10 years jail. Haffiz also advised building owners to engage the service of contractors who are certified and registered with the Construction Industry Development Board .
