Hong Kong singer and actor Stephanie Lai Ming-sze, who had several popular Cantopop hits in the 1990s, passed away today (March 28) at the age of 58, according to Chinese media reports.

SHAH ALAM: Police have arrested a man, who was taking part in a funeral procession, for setting off firecrackers on a road in Banting, Selangor.

Kuala Langat police chief Supt Ahmad Ridhwan Mohd Nor @ Saleh said the 28-year-old workshop assistant was arrested at around 3.30pm in Banting.He said the suspect, was part of the procession along with several other motorcyclists, stopped vehicles and set off some firecrackers."The suspect was issued three summonses for traffic offences," he said here on Thursday .Supt Ahmad Ridhwan said police are tracking down two more suspects involved.

He said the case is being investigated under section 8 of the Explosives Act 1957, which provides for imprisonment of up to seven years, or a fine of RM10,000, or both, if convicted. The police also opened two investigation papers for narcotics offences under Section 15 of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, he said. – BernamaSultan Sharafuddin Idris launches Selangor-Gaza Ihsan Development Fund
