PETALING JAYA: Malaysia is ready to offer training opportunities for Senegal's technical personnel and air traffic controllers through the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP), says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

"With Senegal setting up its own aviation academy, it is eager to collaborate with other member states in providing on-the-job and continuous training to its technical staff," the Transport Minister said in a Facebook post after meeting Senegal's Air Transport and Airport Infrastructure Development Minister Doudou Ka at the International Civil Aviation Organisation headquarters in Montreal on Sunday .

"Malaysia will continue to show its commitment to the global aviation industry by sharing our experience and knowledge, especially following the reinstatement of our Category 1 IASA safety rating by the US Federal Aviation Administration," he said. Dr Wee also thanked Senegal for its continuous support and endorsement for Malaysia to be re-elected to the ICAO Council for the sixth term.
