PETALING JAYA: The Magistrate's Court here has recorded an objection by lawyers representing the parents of autistic child Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin, who was found dead last year.
He explains that the objection was filed because a confession made by a person on remand while under the police's supervision could not be used in the court unless the admission was made in front of the Magistrate.Mahmud also urged the public not to speculate or spread any unverified facts linking Zayn Rayyan’s parents' alleged involvement with the six-year-old child’s death.“I urge the public to cooperate and respect the investigation process.
Fahmi explained that the defence counsel was not late and was only informed of the proceedings involving their client through the media. Zayn's parents are still on a six-day remand extension that ends on Thursday . Only his mother was present for Wednesday's proceedings. On Dec 6, last year, Zayn was found dead at a stream near Apartment Idaman, Damansara Damai. The case took a turn when his parents were arrested by the Selangor Criminal Investigation Department on May 31.
