MACC arrests ex-Penang Port Commission chairman in undersea tunnel probe

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission today arrested former Penang Port Commission chairman Jeffrey Chew following new leads in the investigation into the undersea tunnel project. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, June 30, 2020.

ANTI-graft authorities have arrested former Penang Port Commission chairman Jeffrey Chew in relation to what a source said are new leads into the Penang undersea tunnel project. A Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission source said Chew was arrested at 2pm today while at the Penang MACC headquarters to give a statement.
