Ketua Polis Daerah Kluang ACP Bahrin Mohd Noh berkata mangsa yang berusia 20-an itu dipercayai dibawa arus banjir ketika sedang memandu keretanya di lokasi kejadian, kira-kira 7.20 pagi tadi. “Usaha mengesan mangsa terus dilakukan dan pada pukul 12.20 tengah hari sebuah kereta jenis Toyota Avanza ditemui dengan keadaan ditenggelami banjir.
Sementara itu, dalam kenyataan berasingan Ketua Polis Johor Kamarul Zaman Mamat menafikan terdapat kejadian jambatan runtuh dan dihanyutkan arus seperti yang didakwa dalam satu video tular di aplikasi TikTok.
