KLUANG: Floods in Johor have claimed its first life after a body of a man was found on Jalan GSA Chamek here.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said the victim, identified as K. Sarathkumar, who was in his 20s, was found inside his car at 12.20pm on Wednesday ."Police received a report at around 7.20am about a man who was driving a vehicle along the road and was swept away by floodwaters.

"Police carried out a search operation and found the submerged car some five hours later. A check inside the vehicle revealed the victim's body," he said.He added that the body was sent to Enche'Besar Hajjah Kalsom Kluang Hospital for a post-mortem. ACP Bahrin reminded the public to prioritise their safety and not to go through dangerous flood waters as currents could be strong.
