KUALA PENYU: The State Water Department is urged to be more responsive to the water supply issues impacting several villages in Kuala Penyu.

Resident Shah Mohamad said it has been extremely difficult for locals to obtain clean water supply in recent times. He appealed to the Department to monitor the leaking tank in Kilugus and expressed sympathy for nearby houses that were flooded as a result.

“If it’s raining now, we can collect rainwater, but what about during the drought like the recent one? Even with a meter, it’s useless as there has been no water since Ramadan until now.We living on the hill can’t get water supply because the water pressure is low,” she added. The situation is similar in Kg Kerukan, and Anna hopes Water Department officers will conduct on-site monitoring instead of just relying on feedback from the people.

Resident Dulimin Ajak urged the Water Department to constantly survey the affected areas to identify and address the root causes of the tank or pipe problems.
