KUALA LUMPUR: City police have deployed personnel to conduct checks and roadblocks on individuals who do not adhere to the movement control order (MCO), says Comm Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim.

The Kuala Lumpur police chief said police personnel and officers advised those out and about to stay at home except if they were working in essential services, listed by the National Security Council.

"The efforts are done to curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic," he said in a statement on Thursday . "We stressed that any case involving the virus must be referred to the Health Ministry to avoid any overlapping of data.
