KUALA LUMPUR: The city centre is experiencing light traffic on the first day of the movement control order, says Asst Comm Zulkefly Yahya.

The Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief said that as of 7am on Wednesday , there was minimal traffic heading in and out of the city centre."Traffic remain smooth," he said.

Some two hours later at 9am, traffic at major roads in the city saw a slight buil-up but remained smooth compared to normal days, he added. "Traffic at major roads, including Jalan Kuching, Jalan Cheras, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim, Jalan Setapak and Jalan Tun Razak has built up but much less compared to regular days.KL JSPT personnel are still placed at strategic locations to facilitate traffic flow, especially at the city centre when shopping complexes open, starting at 10am, he added.
