KUALA LUMPUR: Police have opened investigations over a convoy of vehicles which displayed banners protesting price hikes, corruption and calling for stricter law enforcement.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Noor Dellhan Yahaya said they had opened investigations into the five-vehicle convoy which drove around the Dang Wangi area.

"The vehicles drove along Jalan Bukit Bintang, Jalan Sultan Ismail and in front of a shopping complex on Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman. "We are investigating the case under Section 21 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act and Rule 9 of Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations for holding a procession," he said in a statement on Friday ."The investigation papers will be referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor's office once investigations are completed.Article type: metered
