ANWAR Ibrahim and Muhyiddin Yassin have been summoned to the palace by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong after none of the leaders had mustered the numbers to form a federal government, Comptroller of the Royal Household Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said. The Pakatan Harapan and Perikatan Nasional leaders are now on the way for an audience with Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at 4.30pm.
Among those seen entering the palace were Dewan Rakyat Speaker Azhar Azizan Harun, Attorney-General Idrus Harun and Chief Secretary to the Government Mohd Zuki Ali.In last Saturday’s 15th general election, PH won 76 seats, while its coalition member Sarawak DAP garnered five seats and Muda one, for a total of 82. BN could only muster 30 seats, with many of the coalition’s leaders becoming casualties.
