PETALING JAYA: Independent shuttler Cheam June Wei’s luck continues to roll.

June Wei, who quit the Badminton Association of Malaysia last month, has found two sponsors to support his journey to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

The help from his sponsors has come in timely as June Wei gets ready for his first World Championships in Huelva, Spain starting on Sunday. He was lucky to make the trip as one of the last few qualifiers for the world meet following many withdrawals. Boosted by the financial support, June Wei hopes to make his world championships debut memorable too. The other men’s singles in the fray are another independent player Liew Daren and BAM’s Lee Zii Jia.
