PETALING JAYA: The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has begun registrations for the MyLesen Goods Driving Licence 2.0 (GDL 2.0) programme, say Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The Transport Minister said GDL 2.0 is aimed at helping logistics and transport companies address driver shortages while also providing job opportunities for up to 700 Malaysians.

Under the GDL 2.0 initiative, the government will subsidise candidates in taking their E Full and Articulated GDL licences to enable them to take advantage of vacanices in the logistics industry. Candidates will also receive a one-off allowance of RM500.
