BATU PAHAT: The Johor government will allow breaking of fast events at mosques and surau during Ramadan.

However, state Islamic religious affairs committee chairman Mohd Fared Mohd Khalid said only a maximum of 50 people were allowed at each function.

"Under the standard operating procedures for breaking fast, every mosque can carry out such programmes. “The size of the congregation allowed is to the size of the mosque," he said after performing the Terawih prayers at the Parit Besar Semerah Mosque here on Saturday .
