SIBU: A jobless man has been arrested for allegedly possessing a homemade firearm on Friday (June 19).

Deputy Sibu OCPD Supt Collin Babat said that around 11.45pm on Friday, a police team raided a longhouse in Mile 16, Jalan Oya and arrested a 31-year-old jobless man.

"An investigation on the suspect resulted in the seizure of a homemade shotgun in his bedroom, a pump gun, 21 marbles and a pouch in the ceiling," he added.Supt Collin said the suspect is being remanded for investigation under Section 8 of the Firearms Act 1960.
