Recently, Huawei made an announcement of a new phone lineup. In the short video posted on its official Weibo account, Huawei Consumer Business CEO, Richard Yu stated that the well-known Huawei P series will be revamped to Huawei Pura.

This is quite a big change for Huawei fans as the P series has been around since 2012. In the video, Richard assured that the newly rebranded Pura series will still follow the same DNA as the P series. With this, we think the new Pura smartphones for this year shouldn't look too different from the predecessors last year.

On that note, fellow Chinese leakster DigitalChatStation said that Huawei will be launching four new Pura phone models this year. They shall be known as the Huawei Pura 70, Pura 70 Pro, Pura 70 Pro+ and Pura 70 Ultra. No other information is revealed yet, though, such as the tech specs and launching date but we know now that the upcoming phones won't be called the P70 series.

So what do you think of the new rebranding of the Huawei Pura series? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
