KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court here has fixed Aug 19 to hear an application by PetroSaudi Oil Services (Venezuela) Ltd (PSOS-VZ) which seeks to amend an interim court order that prohibits them from moving more than US$340mil (RM1.425bil) from the company’s account overseas.

Lawyer Alex Tan, who represented PSOS-VZ, informed the court that he required further instructions from his client due to the latest development regarding the case in London.

Tan later told reporters that the application was to vary the terms of the interim order granted by the same court on July 16. On July 16, Justice Nazlan allowed the government’s application for the interim order to block oil services and production company PetroSaudi International Ltd and its director Tarek Obaid from moving over the funds in question to other entities until the disposal of the main application on Aug 28.

It named Tarek Obaid, PSI, PSOS-VZ, Clyde & Co. LLP and Temple Fiduciary Services Ltd as the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth respondents respectively.
