IPOH: A jobless man believed to be under the influence of drugs rammed his car into an 82-year-old motorcyclist, killing him instantly.

Perak Tengah OCPD Supt Barudin Wariso said the incident occurred along Jalan Parit Perak at about 8.40am on Monday , adding that the deceased suffered serious head injuries and has been identified as Razali @Nazaei Yaacob from Kampung Simpang 3.

“Initial investigations revealed that the elderly man was on his way to the Parit market when the suspect from Tronoh drove into the opposite lane of the road. He then knocked into the motorcyclist, who died at the site due to head injuries, ” Supt Barudin said He added that the the car's driver was not injured and said that a later check of the car's driver found two translucent plastic objects believed to contain methamphetamine.

Supt Barudin said that the police also found drug inhaling equipment in a cigarette box that the suspect was carrying. “The urine test on the suspect came back positive for drugs and the suspect will be charged at the Parit Magistrate's Court tomorrow , ” he added.
