PUTRAJAYA: The Health Ministry has not advised the government on whether to extend the movement control order (MCO) which ends on April 14.

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the government will make a decision based on the advice of the ministry.

"For now, we have not gotten any advice. We didn't discuss this at the meeting just now," he said referring to the special Cabinet committee on non-health matters involving the MCO."We shall leave it to the ministry to advise the government and we will make the necessary announcement then," he said. According to a Bernama report, the public will know on Friday whether the MCO, enforced since March 18, will be further extended to curb the spread of Covid-19.
