PETALING JAYA: There are no cases of Covid-19 patients being reinfected with the disease, although it can happen, says the Health Ministry.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were a few cases where patients who were discharged showed “weak positives” when they were retested.

“Maybe the virus is weak and it is shedding. You can get a positive from these cases, ” he said during a press conference on Monday . Dr Noor Hisham explained that if there was a “strong positive”, there might be a need to isolate the patient.Malaysia recorded 134 new Covid-19 cases on Monday, taking the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 4,817.Malaysia has entered its 27th day of the movement control order as people are instructed to stay at home and their movement is heavily restricted to curb the spread of the disease.
