KUALA LUMPUR: Seorang ahli perniagaan memberitahu Mahkamah Sesyen di sini hari ini, beliau menghadiahkan wang tunai RM100,000 dan jam tangan mewah berjenama Maurice Lacroix bernilai RM43,000 kepada Lim Guan Eng sempena ulang tahun kelahirannya, lapan tahun lalu.
Ujar Zarul Ahmad, 62, wang itu adalah sebahagian wang rasuah daripada 10 peratus yang diminta oleh Guan Eng daripada keuntungan syarikat selepas dianugerahkan dengan projek pembinaan terowong dasar laut dan jalan utama di Pulau Pinang. Beliau mengakui tidak merasa apa-apa apabila Guan Eng menolak pemberian RM100,000 atas alasan projek mega itu akan mengambil masa yang lama untuk disiapkan.
Dia didakwa mengikut Seksyen 23 Akta Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia 2009 yang memperuntukkan penjara maksimum 20 tahun dan tidak kurang daripada lima kali ganda jumlah atau nilai suapan atau RM10,000 atau mana-mana yang lebih tinggi jika sabit kesalahan.
