Fireworks are not something to play with without safety measures as one wrong move can cause serious injuries or even death. Unfortunately, there are some who did not get that memo.
Kota Bharu District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Rosdi Daud shared that all the men arrested were between the ages of 22 and 27, while at the scene of the incident. Following the call, officers from the Kota Bharu District Police Headquarters were deployed to the scene and found that there was a group of individuals, split into 2 parties, shooting fireworks at each other.
“As a result of the police’s investigation at the scene, no casualties or damage to property were reported in relation to the incident. Playing with fireworks to the point of disturbing the peace or endangering the public is an offence punishable under Section 13 of the Minor Offenses Act 1955,”
